Junglizer

A four-bar break instrument. Chop four breaks, rearrange them into a 16-beat phrase, and play it in time with your DAW.

AUv2 for Logic Pro, plus VST3 and CLAP. Apple Silicon and Intel. The 174 BPM breaks ship inside the plugin.

The Junglizer editor in Logic Pro: a sliced source break on top, and a four-bar player below filled with colored placements from four breaks.

How it works

You work in two places: the source waveform, where you cut the break, and the player, where you arrange the cuts. Both stay on screen together.

  1. 1

    Slice a break

Pick a source and split it into 1 to 32 slices. Drag the markers to land on the hits. Click a slice to hear it, right-click to mute it, and tag the bass hits that drive the 808.

  2. 2

Pick a break for each bar

Each of the four bars gets its own break. Until you place anything, the full break plays underneath as a ghost, so the groove never drops out.

  3. 3

    Place slices

Drag slices onto the player grid. Set each one’s length, Original or Fit speed, bit depth and retriggers (up to 8×), then lock the ones you want to keep.

  4. 4

    Let it suggest fills

Ask for a fill in any bar, or turn on Live variations to get a new phrase every four bars. Freeze the one you like.

  5. 5

Thin it out or make it thicc

One crossfader runs from Thin (high-passed) through Dry to Thicc, which layers a decaying 808 on your tagged bass hits at the root you choose. Push it all the way for a sub octave.

Export the phrase as MIDI

One click writes a four-bar .mid file to ~/Music/Junglizer/Exports and shows it in Finder. Drop it on the Junglizer track in Logic and switch the plugin to MIDI region playback. The file includes slice notes, bar sources, and controller data for speed, bit depth, retriggers and tone.

Automate and map everything

Every control is a host automation parameter, so you can draw it in or map it to a hardware controller. Phrases, markers, placements and locks are saved with your project.

The plugin follows your host’s tempo. Away from 174 BPM, the breaks change speed and pitch to stay on the grid.

This is a beta. Every build is signed and notarized by Apple, so it loads without any security prompts. SHA-256 checksums: arm64, Intel. Fit to length currently changes pitch along with speed; pitch-preserving stretch is planned.
